Change Default Page For Asp.net In Visual Studio For Mac

Hi, Is it possible to set the default code page to Unicode when add a new source code file(e.g. Currently, the language for non-Unicode programs is set to Simplified Chinese codepage-936, when adding a new code file in my project, it use 936 as the code page. The question is my project is a distributed project, and my colleagues setting is code page 1252(Western European). There might be unrecognized characters when we exchange the source code. What I want is a setting in Visual Studio that will force new created text file to use unicode and the code page. Paragon ntfs for mac notices keep appearing after deleting.

Mar 05, 2018  Mac OS X Speciality level out of ten: 0. Question: Q: Question. As far as I can tell from limited use after going to High Sierra, Bento still works - except that printing comes out in mirror format with the image completely reversed. If someone else has found this - or, particularly, has found a solution other than screen grabbing - please. I am running Mac High Sierra 10,13,2. I have Bento version 4.1.2. I am not able to get my Bento data printed. Even though I have selected/highlighted all the data the only thing that shows up when I try to print are the column headers-no data. Bento for mac sierra. Is there a setting in VS, or is there a setting in Windows? Hi Cael, As far as I know, the default file encoding of Visual Studio is UTF-8., depends on the Windows setting, so if you want to change default encoding, you need to change the language. For more information, please refer to: Also you can set global setting in Tools > Options > Environment > Documents, named Save documents as Unicode when data cannot be saved in codepage. When this is enabled, VS2008/2010 will save as Unicode if certain characters cannot be represented in the otherwise-default codepage. Sincerely, Helen Zhou [MSFT] MSDN Community Support . Hello Helen, Thanks for the reply. But I have to say, my problem is not about writing code to convert between code pages.

It's about how to make VS itself. If we write our code to convert the encoding to UTF, we'll face another problem, a problem about how to inject the code into VS editor, and it's not easy to do this.

As you said in your last post, VS actually reading some settings from the operating system, but how can I configure the system to force VS to save code file with UTF as the encoding? I would like give it a try before I go to extend the VS editor. NO, the ' Save documents as Unicode when data cannot be saved in codepage.'

Doesn't work in this scenario. For example: Some character in codepage 1252 cannot be recognized by codepage 936(e.g. It means some from west Europe can use it and save the code file as ANSI.

When someone in China download the source in the SCM system. VS cannot detect the codepage, it will use codepage 936 to analyze the code file, and of course the code is not correct and cannot be compiled. Let me try to explain my question again. I want to save the code file using UTF no matter what character is used in the code file. So that the code can be recognized by everyone from different site.

By default, if a file is created in Visual Studio 2008 IDE, the file will be saved as UTF-8 encoding, furthermore, when we Save or Save as a file in VS IDE, the Encoding option of Advanced Save Options will be used. If a file is created outside VS IDE, for example, you may create a.txt file by right-clicking a blank space in a folder, and choose New -> Text Document, the txt file is encoded using settings; if we open this file in VS IDE of another machine (which has different system locale) and then save the file again, the file will be saved using the new system locale. In your first post, you mentioned that ' Currently, the language for non-Unicode programs is set to Simplified Chinese codepage-936, when adding a new code file in my project, it use 936 as the code page.' , but in your last response, you said new created file in VS IDE has UTF-8 format, is there any misunderstanding?

For this case, if you want to trasfer source code files between machines that has different codepage, you may always create files using VS IDE, so that the source files will be encoded in UTF-8, and then you colleague can open the source file within VS IDE correctly, at same time, the source file will be also saved in UTF-8 by VS IDE defaultly.
