Requires an HDMI cable (Sold Separately) for connection to a display. 4K resolution requires a 4K equipped source, HDMI cable, and output display. 4.It does not support USB-C smartphones and tablets, for most of them work with MHL solution or SlimPort solution instead of DP Alt mode. 5.For certain monitors such as Philips 288P6(4K@30Hz), Dell P2715Q (4K@30Hz) may turn on and off every minute as connected with a long HDMI cable, for stable output, we highly recommend using a short HDMI cable within 5.9ft to connect your display. It is not suggested to be used with Lenovo Yoga 910 and HP Spectre X360.
After seeing at Microsoft Store Surface Pro 3 connected to P2817Q (refresh rate 30) and producing 4K resolution I've bought a slightly up-level monitor P2717Q (refresh rate 60). Using Display Port I've tried to connect it to the docking station and directly to the surface. Using Win+P I've selected Extend option. In Screen Resolution control panel when I select Dell Monitor max resolution I see is 2560x1440. I am expecting 3840x2160.
I've installed latest updates from MS (including all optional updates). It did not resolve the issue. Then I've installed latest drivers from Dell support. Issue did not go away.
Fourth, Macs are so seriously user-friendly, that buying extras like peripherals of ANY kind, are easy-peasy. Not so in the PC world.
Any suggestions?
