Eafter Installing New Canon Driver Osx Software For This Device Is Not Installed Site:apple.com

Ever since I upgraded to OS x 10.11.1, my Canon LBP6000 won't print w/o first unplugging it and restarting. After going through sleep mode, I have the same issue again. I never had issues with the drivers before. I've read all the support community's answers and tried deleting the printer, deleting the original drivers, upgrading the drivers, using drivers from Australia, rebooting, each a number of times. I have the same issue whether I try from my iMac (OS X 10.11.1) or either of my MBAs (OS X 10.9.5). I've been able to get my Canon MG7720 to work with the OS but not the laser printer.

Any other ideas of what I could try? Pahu, I appreciate your help. I tried the method you suggested for installing the newer driver and have had partial success. I now can print from my iMac and one of my MBA's. The odd thing is that the other MBA is exactly the same model and operating system and is set up in the same way but it won't print. I see the print job in the queue and it says 'printing' but nothing happens and then it disconnects. I've tried shutting down the computer several times, deleting the printer, re-installing the new driver you suggested and the same thing happens.

I saw in another thread you asked for what the printer configuration is and here is what I found for the problem computer: I also saw on another thread you recommended going to the below route but I'm not sure what I should do when I get there. LBP600 /Library/Caches/Canon/CUPSCAPT/CCPD/ccpd.conf I am desperate for other ideas. It's really frustrating since it works on two computers but not a third one exactly the same.

I appreciate any direction you can give me. The printer information above shows that from this Mac, you are connecting to the LBP6000 via a shared connection to the iMac. This doesn't always work that well as it relies on a mix of Canon and Apple comms. But, since you have it working on one MBA, then we need to compare the settings. So can you provide the printer information for the working MBA connecting via the iMac so we can compare to this non-working the MBA. Also, that ccpd.conf file is basically a text file and used to direct the Canon protocols to the respective port.

I would like to compare the contents of both MBA's. So you should be able to open each file (working and non-working) using TextEdit to read the content and then copy and paste here for me to check. As of this morning, none of the three computers communicated again with the printer. This was never a problem with the former operating system and only happened after I did the system update to El Capitan. Mac os 10.6 download free. I'm so sorry I did that. This is the first time Apple has ever created a problem for me.

It seems that after the computer and/or printer has gone through a sleep mode, things go awry. So, this morning i again cleared out the printer settings, re-downloaded the newest driver, rebooted with the printer turned off and disconnected and then proceeded to add the printer again to the iMac, and two MBA's. Again, nothing worked.

For

Mac find folder by name. It seems if I unplug the printer and re-plug I can get a response but this is intermittent. I will add the printer connections to this message. But, if you think the problem is the shared connection with the iMac, is there another way I could be connecting to the printer? I'd hate to have to replace the printer as this is the one I like the best. What is strange to me is that my other printer is also a Canon and I was able to update the driver to that successfully after El Capitan and it works fine.

Thank you for your patience and guidance so far. Thanks for that printer information.

Two observations. LBP6000 connected to the iMac If this is not printing then the MBA's won't also be able to print, since they are connecting to the iMac share. As the information for the iMac connection looks correct the issue must be to do with the ccpd.conf file. Did you manage to open this file with TextEdit? Also, on the iMac you need to open Activity Monitor app and check that CAPT Backgrounder is running, as this process helps to create the content within ccpd.conf.

LBP6000 on MBA #1 This information is wrong for a connection to a shared printer. It looks like a mix of a direct connection and network connection. It should look like the information shown for MBA #2. So I suggest you delete this printer and work on getting the iMac connection working. Once that it is working, then you can add the shared printer to this MBA#1. Pahu, Thank you for looking this over. I'm afraid my computer knowledge is below this but I will give it a try.
