External Hard Drive Not Working My Passport For Mac
This answer explains how to troubleshoot an external hard drive on Mac OSX.*END External Drive Troubleshooting – Mac STEP 1 Check the power and data cable • Check that the power cable is securely connected to the external drive and wall socket (applies only to desktop external hard drives). • Do not connect the drive through a USB hub, connect it directly to the Mac. Make sure the power adapter is connected directly to a wall outlet, not to an extension cord. • Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the drive and computer. • If your external hard drive came with a Y-cable, use both USB connectors to ensure the drive is getting the appropriate power.
• If you are connecting to a Mac, use the USB ports found on the back of the computer. Avoid using USB ports found on keyboards, monitors or the front of the Mac.

I am having WD My passport Ultra (1tb) and its not recognized in any USB 3.0 ports, after initial one time! If I try my HDD in any USB 2.0 ports its recognized instantly. I tried reinstalling drivers from device manager, but same problem.
PS: In WIN 7 OS, it gets recognized in all USB 3.0 ports as well. Any solutions?I have the same drive with no issues. There is a WD SES Driver that should get installed when this device is hooked up from Windows 10, would be listed below Universal Serial Bus Controllers in Device Manager and only visible when hooked up unless you select under View in the Menu and check 'Show Hidden Devices'. Also shown as WD My Passport in Disk Drives in the Device Manager. Show in Devices and Printers and on taskbar notification area as Safely Remove?
