Is there another browser that may interface better with the internet, or do I need to consider this computer near the end of it's life (in terms of the internet)?

There are different versions for different processor chips, so you have to invoke TERMINAL and use the MACHINE function to discover if you have a plain vanilla G4 (7400, I believe) or an updated G4 (7450, I believe).
