Lately, my MacBook Air from 2012 has begun crashing/freezing when watching videos from YouTube. Sometimes the computer becomes unresponsive (the screen freezes, but sound keeps playing), other times the screen shows weird artifacts - both forces me to do a hard restart. When it happens, the entire Mac literally freezes over except for my mouse cursor. It's usuall after I clicked on a link from an email where someone had posted a reply to a video I had commented on. Then after it goes to the video, the video plays.

I post a reply. Sometimes it freezes right then and there after I click 'Reply' to post it, sometimes it freezes after I close the browser windows after I hit reply. But definitely only on YouTube. Nothing else causes the Mac to freeze like this. Also, the freezing happens for about 30-40 seconds. Eventually it unfreezes, but refreezes at varying intervals.

Only a hard reboot helps at that point. Also, started happening after upgrading to El 'Crapitan'. I've had weird freezing issues with my Mac too.
