Microsoft Remote Desktop App For Os X
I have a user that wants to use a remote desktop app to remote back to his Windows7 PC from his Macbook pro. I was able to download and install Microsoft remote desktop 8.0.9 from the Apple app store, but I am unable to successfully connect to the PC, it keeps on stating that the RDP client can't connect and to check that the PC name is correct or enter the IP address.
Nov 8, 2018 - On your personal Mac, click here and open the Mac App Store and install. Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 requires OS X 10.11 El Capitan or later.
I have allowed the user to remote to the PC on the Windows7 PC side. The Macbook pro is running Mavericks OS X 10.9.4. Best racing games for mac 2016. I was wondering if there are any known issues with this version of RDP possibly not working with the OS X version? I have had good luck in the past being able to remote onto Windows PCs from a MAC using the Windows RDP client, but having a hard time making this version work. Maybe I should try a 3rd party RDP client?

(and a few other beefs) • The OS X version opens in a window and resizes the resolution of the remote desktop to match the window dimensions. It seems the only similar feature is full screen mode. • The OS X version let you choose a specific folder to share to the remote computer, the windows version forces you to choose a whole drive. • You can't manage the connection after you've opened it. In OS X the remote desktop app has it's own menu bar that lets you edit the current connection and save settings for future re connections. Another issue with the windows version I have (I don't know if this is the same for OS X) is scaling.
I now have a 4K monitor and use scaling options, when I open a RDP session on this monitor it doesn't use those scaling settings when displaying the remote desktop and the cursors are all incorrectly sized (even when I use the Zoom setting. I bought a second monitor with worse resolutions strictly so I could use Remote Desktop without having to right click and hit Zoom every time I wanted to admin a server. Another +1 for RoyalTS. It doesn't sync as you mention, but I use a dropbox alternative to store my connection file to provide this sync functionality to different devices.
I keep credentials in a different file that isn't stored within The cloud storage though. That forces an extra step to sync passwords but those change much less frequently than my need to update the connection file. A quick adjustment of the startup behavior will load up both of these files from their respective locations and you are good to go.
