Accidentally Clicked Do Not Save Changes For Powerpoint Mac

Microsoft’s 'Mark as Final' feature, available in Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2010, allows business users to make spreadsheets and slide show presentations bear a read-only status. While documents with read-only statuses cannot be edited, 'Mark as Final' does not serve as a security feature. Any receiver of the electronic copy of the document can edit the document if they remove the read-only status. You can unlock a read-only PowerPoint presentation by removing the 'Mark as Final' designation from the document. Step 2 Click “File” and select “Info” in the left pane to open the Permissions window.

Good thing this was just a “test” document. Even though I was starting to kind of like my test document. But very good to remember that Publisher does not appear to have the same auto save feature as Word, if you click don’t save. I don’t even remember closing it and clicking “don’t save.” Argh. Annoyed at self.

The Permissions window allows you to encrypt your presentation with a password, add a digital signature, restrict permission by people and mark the document as final. The Encrypt with Password option requires users to open the presentation with a password, the Add a Digital Signature option indicates the document was made by a known sender and the Restrict Permission by People allows others to access the document but relieves them of the ability to copy or print the presentation.

Unless you had a Backup copy I'm afraid it's time to cry. This won't help now but will in future it may: • Go To Word Menu > Preferences > Save. • Locate Always Create Backup Copy, click on Checkbox • Click Okay. • Now get in the habit of Saving with name to desired location even before writing anything. • Then every time you stop to think about what to write, hit ⌘- S (Save). • If you use auto Recover set to no sooner than 10 Minutes.

Accidentally

(Note auto save Only works when you have a hard crash of Word or Excel or PowerPoint and Then will Only recover if you immediately open and choose from Save As menu Recover any Text. You may have to reformat.

If you use save back up if you do something such as what you did you can open the latest version that was saved and you have rewrite what you missed but not the entire document.
